Behind the Stitch
Historical clothing has always been a major part of my life and I've spent 35 years bringing history to life in film and other media. My experience includes designing and constructing complete wardrobes, supervising on-set costume departments and functioning as a general problem solver. Every job has been unique and has allowed me to call upon all my skills- from constructing wardrobe for principal actors to outfitting armies of extras, to acting as a general trouble-shooter.
Why are my garments unique? I own a large museum collection of garments from 1860-1915, and spend my time studying, patterning, and re-producing them for film and media. Designing directly from original sources with the benefits of modern technology makes all the difference for superior aesthetics and authenticity.
Fun fact: I collect and use antique sewing machines and use them on a daily basis!
